Beginner Yoga Workshop 

5 week course | May 5-2 Jun | BOOK NOW

On this course we cover the foundations of yoga.

 Through yoga poses mindfulness is learnt which revitalises the ability to tune in and listen to the body. We guide you through basic yoga poses with complimentary yoga techniques  that help discover your limitations, open up learning toward personalising your practice, and explore new boundaries and capabilities of physical awareness, strength and capacity.

The 5 week course involves a 90min session each Sunday substantially consisting of week by week edification through yoga postures enabling advancement and building familiarity with yoga. At a level for beginners and those new to yoga, this course is also deeply gratifying for those returning after a break, or wishing to simplify and deepen your practice as it offers much to gain experientially.

Along with basic foundational yoga postures and technique this course aims to provide you with developing  mind-body awareness and to prepare you for practicing in beginner/entry level and mixed ability/general yoga classes. Our intention is help you feel yoga class ready, aware of your physical self, and confident in your ability to practice safely within the limitations of your body's capabilities.

Saturday 1st Sept sees a different kinda morning class. Help us raise funds and collect natural & disposable menstruating supplies for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. Yoga 4 Dignity needs our help again from kind hearted people like yourselves to come along enjoy a yoga class and give back.

Keeping grounded right now, getting into your body and into your space will help you stay steady with ease and peace helping you go with the flow.

Yin+Slow Flow workshop. Along with the mental and emotional benefits to arouse serenity and acceptance within, the physical journey will stimulate meridians throughout your body. Here we'll do a whole body workout with some long deep Yin pose holds. Yin has the potential to wring out all the wintery kinks and knots, while the slow flow expels them from your energy. The 2-hour workshop allows a deeper practice into fascia tissue. Fascia is an integrating mesh that envelops our bones, organs and muscles and is a structural support holding our blood vessels and nerves in place. It is crucially important for overall health, ability to move, and proper functioning of our internal communication systems.

YAM JAM is our jam down of yoga, meditation and art for kids! Runs 3 days for 3 hours over school holidays

These 3 hour kids workshop involve guided meditation from local health and wellness therapist Natasha Lee of Inner Health Outer Beauty who’s crafted her own age-focused specially scripted meditation; yoga teacher and co-owner of Blue Lotus Yoga Tammy leading yoga asana, pranayama, relaxation & meditation all for the kids; interior/spacial designer & artist Hannah of HLCA design brings her child-friendly creative energy. Each workshop has a different theme, we explore and tie together ideas and expressions in all the practices of yoga art & meditation for each day.

Friday 26th May 2017 cycle of New Moon is in Gemini. Gemini is ruled by Mercury also known as Hermes, and through the lens of slow asana + meditation you are invited to celebrate the New Moon in Gemini and Connect with Mercury/Hermes. Hermes is a healer but he is also the messenger of the Gods. After a slow asana to restore and open the physical body, and awaken consciousness with Tammy, Jan will take you on a guided meditation where we meet Mercury/Hermes the teacher to develop a communicative skill associated with the healing power of Hermes; for example speaking, writing, communicating all associated with Mercury/Hermes.

Jan is a professional astrologer and tarot reader with 30 years experience. She also teaches these esoteric arts. Her academic research led her to the practice of spiritual mediumship, healing and meditation. Beginners Yoga Workshop 

5 week course | Mar 12 - 9 Apr 2017 | BOOK NOW

Yoga is for everyone. On this course we cover the foundational yoga postures and learn how to listen to our body. We will guide you through basic yoga poses and techniques so that you can learn your limitations and find out how to adapt and modify YOUR yoga practice. Over the 6 week course you attend one 90min session per week at the end of the 90mins each session we share tea, light vegetarian snacks and free talk. In relation to basic foundational yoga postures and technique this course aims to provide you with developing  mind-body awareness and to prepare you for practicing in beginner/entry level and mixed ability/general yoga classes.

Our intention is that completion of the course will equip students to develop awareness of their physical range of movement and have the confidence and ability to practise within the limitations of THEIR body's capabilities in any general or mixed level yoga class. -- team blue Lotus
 
  •        Every Sunday 11am-12:30pm for 5 weeks.
  •        Light homework at each session for you to do over the week
  •        This is a workshop and requires you to question and delve into your experience. We will be there to teach and guide.
