Pranayama + Meditation workshop with Hilary Olszewski & Tammy Jacobson-Rooke
Join Hilary and Tammy for pranayama and meditation using Indian and Buddhist techniques to explore awareness of breath and more.. This 2-hour workshop will give you manageable slices of space segmented into stretches of time with focus on Pranayama then shifting into a natural interval of silent meditations. Blending and flowing ones focus between the two practices in digestible morsels allows us to explore transitions, reflections and absorb the benefits of each practice. Pranayama leads to purification activating and harmonising ones pranic energies. Meditation allows us to exercise the mind-muscle and train it in mindfulness by realising its fluctuations as one cultivates gently and softly re-aligning their attention to the present.
Hilary comes from a background of mothering, counselling and medicine. She has three adult children and now, two young grandchildren. She first started meditating around ten years ago, looking for a way to calm a perpetually busy mind. She has since learned from a number of teachers, and has enjoyed several 5 and 9 day silent meditation retreats. Meditation is now part of her daily life. Suspecting she has made nearly every mistake there is to make with meditation, she is happy to share her experiences and discoveries in the hope that it might be helpful to others.
